The wildfires really impact our air quality, not just outside, but smoke and pollutants easily get into our indoor spaces as well. If you have an older home, you likely don’t have air-tight windows, doors, or even walls. On this week’s episode of You Got This!, Andrew discusses what you can do to improve the AIQ in your indoor spaces.
Some folks mistakenly believe that during fire season they shouldn’t use their air conditioner. But because your A/C is not pulling air from the outside, there’s no reason not to keep yourself cool and comfortable. However, if you use a swamp cooler, or a whole house fan, you want to avoid using those when the air quality is poor. Both of these sources of cooling pull in the air from the outside.
One quick solution to improve the air quality in your home is to build a box fan air filter (pictured here). Learn more about what you can do to breathe easier during fire season, by listening to You Got This! this week, online at anytime or at 9am on Friday, on KNCO Grass Valley.
