What are some basic things you should know about your well? They are fairly common in rural areas and much of Nevada County. One of the things to keep in mind is how often you’re testing your well water. Annually is the minimal recommendation – you want to make sure you’re aware of the levels of sediment and minerals that may be in your water. While most of the things we worry about with well water are aesthetic, you do want to make sure your water is at a safe drinking level, at all times.
Experts seem to suggest that chlorinating your well once a year is a good idea; Andrew disagrees with the frequency of this service. ABT has plumbers on staff, who can help you with your well maintenance and well safety questions.

Andrew and Rosalie discuss a host of issues that you may want to pay attention to if your Grass Valley, Nevada City, Penn Valley property (or surrounding) has a well. Not mentioned but important is also making sure you have a back up plan to power your well in the event of a planned power outage or other emergency situation.
Stand alone generators, if they are the right size and amperage can keep your well operating even when the power goes out. You can call ABT Plumbing, Electric, Heat & Air to discuss your well or to get a quote on a standby generator at (530) 272-9120. And, as always, when it comes to repair and DIY around the home or office, You Got This! And if you don’t, give us a call because we can help.
