Updating Your Bathroom for Cheap

grass valley plumber updating bathroomOne of the most common remodel jobs when purchasing a new home, or even wanting to give your home an upgrade … is the bathroom. While the 80s produced many cool things, bathroom motif was arguably, not one of them.  Lots of homes have dated tubs, tile, or color schemes that may make it difficult to appreciate the functionality or style of the home itself. This week, Andrew discusses a handful of things you can do, for not much money, to give that bathroom a facelift.

This can be especially helpful if you’re thinking of putting your home on the market. Most buyers look at property and immediately begin to estimate what they’ll need to do, to make the home feel like their own. If you can show your home with a very basic, not complicated, functional bathroom, at the very least it won’t detract from your home’s allure.  In fact, if you can update your bath just enough to make it seem neutral, livable, or at least not on the top of the “to-do” list, you’ll likely increase the chance of your home getting some offers.

There are many products on the market that won’t break the bank. You can go for a full tub/shower liner to cover old tile; you could opt for painting the tile and hiding it – using a special paint that can be a step above your average D-I-Y, but the results are certainly worth it.  Rather than replacing your entire vanity, you can shop for new vanity tops; most vanities come together with a couple of screws, and most any level of D-I-Y enthusiast can change these out.
