This project shouldn’t take you longer than over the weekend, and it won’t take a ton of skill to do so. Firstly, you’ll have to clear out the area where you’ll put the water feature and dig a hole in the shape of the feature, about 2 feet deep at one end. Next add in a layer of sand, about 1-2 inches thick. Make sure to build the sand up at the edges and taper the sides off. Then lay your pond liner over the sand. The pond liner will keep the sand and soil separate, thus keeping it clean. Place rocks on the excess around the edges and cut the liner to the size of the pond. Use rocks to completely cover the pond layer at the edges, experimenting to get the look you want. Add in plants if you’d like, then add the water and a store bought fountain for an extra touch.

And there you are: your custom water feature that you assembled yourself! To catch more plumbing tips and tricks, come back next week, and don’t worry: You Got This!
