There’s a saying about how tall fences make good neighbors, and while we’re not pointing fingers, some of us have neighbors we’d like a little space from. There are a multitude of options to create privacy screens and fences, or just natural barriers, if you find yourself wanting to keep what happens at your house, well, at your house. This week Andrew discusses different options for keeping a good relationship with the neighbors, by creating a little privacy.
Homeowners have many options when it comes to creating privacy in their backyards. One of the more cost effective (cheap) ways to do this, without creating a permanent structure is with plants and foliage. If you are in a rental or even want the option to move things around, plants and shrubs in containers can offer lots of privacy, while beautifying your space. A quick trip to the local hardware store or nursery will offer you a wide range of options, for a fairly small investment. The one thing to keep in mind will be sight line – and this is true whether you’re using natural landscaping options, or creating a structure of some kind.
